Billy Zane (Chicago, 24 de febrero de 1966). Actor estadounidense que alcanzó la fama por el papel secundario en el filme Titanic.

Síntesis biográfica

Sus padres regentaban una escuela técnica médica. El actor también tiene una hermana actriz llamada Lisa Zane (n. 1961). Fue motivado por la actuación desde el principio en su adolescencia, estudió en el campamento Harand de las Artes Escénicas en Elkhart Lake (estado de Wisconsin).

En 1982 asistió a la Escuela Americana en Suiza. Poco después de graduarse de escuela secundaria, Billy decidió aventurarse a California para probar suerte en la actuación. Dentro de tres semanas, ganó su primer gran papel en la película Regreso al futuro (1985), interpretando el papel de Match, uno de los matones del malvado Biff Tannen. Más tarde se repetiría ese papel para la secuela Regreso al futuro II (1989).

Después de un pequeño papel en la película Critters (1986), obtuvo papeles protagónicos en varias películas de televisión. Filmó Calma total (1989), protagonizó The Phantom (1996) y trabajó en el filme Titanic (1997) como Caledon Hockley.

Vida personal

Fue durante el rodaje de Titanic donde conoció a su futura esposa, Lisa Collins. Estuvieron casados entre de 1988 y 1995. Luego, en 1999, actuó en la película de televisión "Cleopatra" donde conoció a la actriz Leonor Varela, con quien tuvo una relación amorosa y de la cual posteriormente se separó.
